MINUTES OF THE MEETING OF THE
WHETSTONE YOUTH COUNCIL
A meeting held at the Council Offices, Cemetery Road, Whetstone on
Sunday 9th March 2003 at 7.00 p.m.

The minutes of the meeting held on 9th February were confirmed as a true and accurate representation.2) OPERATION 'NO BROWN JUMPERS'
The second consultation meeting with Rob Hinxman on 2nd March was attended by Oliver, Emma, Jaime and Hannah. Rob led a 7-part exercise aimed at sharpening the focus of the steps the youth council may take to achieve their goals. It was agreed that advertising and promotion of the youth council was important, and that project launches should be exciting to attract interest of both young people and potential adult supporters. Time constraints prevented us from completing all 7 parts of the exercise, but it was agreed to revisit this at a later date when more youth councillors and time are available.3) GETTING THE MESSAGE ACROSS
Members present agreed to prepare some promotional material, posters, flyers, etc.4) PARISH PLAN
Members thought it a good idea to become involved in the proposed Whetstone Parish Plan with a youth targeted questionnaire. Secretary to attend a preliminary community meeting on 13th March.5) MULTI-MEDIA WORKSHOP LAUNCH
Arrangements for the official launch of the Multi-Media Workshop were discussed. Saturday March 22nd at 6.30 was considered the most appropriate time for most invited guests and young people to attend. A guest list was drawn-up to include representatives of the sponsors, local authorities and local youth groups. Secretary to send out invites, Pat to organize the buffet, youth council members to help arrange the room, display material, and take charge of the Playstation console during games demonstrations for the guests.6) OTHER BUSINESS
County Youth Council Meeting 26th March – Oliver to attend.
Members spent the remainder of the meeting trying-out the Playstation games and controlsMeeting concluded at 9:00pm - Next meeting Sunday 6th April 2003 at 7:30pm
