Technical:
The default email address issued by your Internet Service Provider (ISP) will still work in addition to your @whetstone.org.uk address, so you won't lose e-mail if people use your default one.Many ISP's allow you to change your outgoing mail identity, so that when you send e-mail it appears to come from your @whetstone.org.uk address rather than your default one. All your recipients see is your village e-mail address so they are not aware of whether you are using Freeserve, BTclick, Tesco, or whatever.
If you use Microsoft Outlook© or
Outlook Express© follow the instructions below to change your outgoing mail
identity:
Start your Outlook software programme and from the Tools menu select Accounts, click on the Mail tab to display your e-mail accounts.
Click on the Account name you use for your mail (if you use more than one account you will need to repeat the following steps for each).
Select the Properties button, and on the Properties Form select the General tab.
Change the E-mail Address field to your new @whetstone.org.uk address.
Click on Apply to make the changes, and Close on the Internet Accounts form.
Send yourself two e-mail messages - one to your default address and one to your new @whetstone.org.uk address. You should receive both, and if you have followed the above procedure they should both appear to come from your @whetstone.org.uk address.
