Whetstone Youth Needs Questionnaire

INTRODUCTION

The Whetstone Youth Council’s ‘Youth Needs Questionnaire’ was distributed around most of the schools that serve Whetstone. We don’t have accurate figures for the number of young people living in the village, but we calculated about 100 per year. There were 193 responses to the questionnaire, mainly within the 11 to 15 age group. Therefore we’ve estimated a 38.6% response, which is a comparable ratio to the Village Appraisal response of 40%. The survey was designed to supplement the Village Appraisal by asking mostly youth related questions.

DEMOGRAPHICS

Of the 193 replies:-
37% are male
34% are female
29% are not sure! (No box was ticked)

71 or 37% live in central Whetstone
65 or 34% live in south Whetstone
27 or 14% live in north Whetstone 9% live in rural areas
