RECREATION FACILITIES IN WHETSTONE

Many young people travel out of Whetstone
for their recreation activities.

How do they get there?

76% go by car
50% walk
29% by bus
28% bicycle
2% other means

58% go to Leisure Centres
41% to Youth Clubs
36% to After-School Clubs
26% to Nightclubs
10% other venues

But 67% have no say in how their organisation is run!
94% have not heard of 'Article 12' from the
United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child!
Leaflets explaining 'Article 12' have since been
distributed to the schools serving Whetstone.

But only 3% say they have any problems with transport to their recreation facilities!

Many requested email or telephone contact, but
few gave an email address or phone number.
57% think the youth of Whetstone should get together
occasionally to discuss youth related events and projects.
The Youth Council is willing to host such a meeting.

Local youth groups seem to be well supported.
